Andrés Piazza, partner and advisor from our firm was  a keynote  speaker last week in the National University of Córdoba at the event related to Internet Day organized by AGEIA DENSI, sharing panel with  Fernando Arocena from Punto a Punto, Mario Postay of Brandigital and Daniel Privitera (Romero Victorica).

It stands out in this week the first event of Palermo Valley  Entrepeneurs Community en Córdoba, where our firm is participating. Last week,  Victoria Fava spoke in Palermo Valley Mendoza.

The most important academic event related to El principal evento académico sobre Internet Governance in the southern hemisfer el hemisferio sur, the South Summer School of Internet Governance, was celebrated in Buenos Aires, Argentina during March.

Carlos Dionisio Aguirre, Our Firm´s Director , participated as Faculty member in the School sharing work with other personalities such as  Wolfgang Kleinwaetcher, William Drake, Olga Cavalli, Jorge Perez Martinez, Raúl Echeberría, Avri Doria y Carlos Afonso, among others.

Apart from this, Dr Aguirre starts, this busy academic year, the 5th edition of the Lecture “Law, Economy and Businnes in Information Society” in  National University of Córdoba. With updated contents, the first Argentinean Cathedra in this matter takes place in UNC Law School.

2009 has interesting perspectives to our professionals. Apart from Carlos Aguirre´s being reelected to be part of At Large Commitee at ICANN for the next bianual period, it stands out the upcoming participation of  Andrés Piazza as member of Dot Mobi - Policy Advisory Board (PAB), appointed by  ALAC.

Our Director also has been named as a Faculty Member in South - SSIG (Summer School of Internet Governance) and also continue being ColorIURIS´s head in Argentina.

The Second Computer Law Mercosur Congress ended with an important success due to quality and quantity of the participants and speakers, some of them being well known professionals and leaders in this field, who described some of the current and most important dilemas, during the 3 day event.

Carlos Dionisio Aguirre, Our Director and President of the Academic Commitee in the Congress was one of the keynote speakers, and developed a brief analysis about the situation of “Non Technological Small and Medium Size Businnes” at the moment of incorporating added value in IT.

The presentation describes the disadvantages that Small Businnes and Governments when they hire IT Service Providers, suffering of an important lack of balance between the information there is available for each part.

The conference pointed out some key issues related to  promote interoperability guarantees, IPR´s,  Sandards, etc.

On Saturday, November 1st started  ICANN´s (Internet Corporation for Asigned Names and Numbers) activities at El Cairo, Egypt.Our

Carlos Dionisio Aguirre, Our Firm´s Director , is participating as one of the 15 members of ALAC (At Large Advisory Commitee), representing to Internet Individual Users from Latin American and Caribbean Region.

In ICANN´s 33rd meeting in November, Dr. Aguirre will asume his second period as a Representative, as was re-elected by LACRALO General Assembly on last October, getting a 66% of the regional votes.
